NNEdPro Global Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health was established in 2008 as an academic group in Cambridge and following incorporation in 2015, became known as the NNEdPro Global Centre for Nutrition and Health. NNEdPro share their findings from their education and primary research projects with over 300 publications and over 100 presentations.[1]
History
editNNEdPro was formed in 2008 with Fellowship funding awarded by the National Institute of Health Research to two founding members in Cambridge,[2] as well as an educational award from Abbott Nutrition to the BDA.
Sumantra (Shumone) Ray is the NNEdPro Founding Chair and Executive Director. The Honorary President is Lord Richard Balfe of Dulwich and Global Patron is Lord Diljit Rana, Baron Rana MBE of Malone.
Awards and honors
editNNEdPro was the recipient of the Complete Nutrition Outstanding Achievement Award in 2015. They were finalist and runner-up for BMJ Education Team of the Year Awards in 2016.[3]
In 2017, the British Dietetic Association (BDA) / NNEdPro Global Centre for Nutrition and Health was awarded the MNI Grant 2017 for their project "Nutrition Education Policy for Healthcare Practice".[4]
In 2018, NNEdPro was part of the team to be a joint recipient of the "TIGR2ESS: Transforming India's Green Revolution by Research and Empowerment for Sustainable Food Supplies", as part of the Global Challenges Research Fund project.[5]
In 2019, NNEdPro received the Education Team of the Year award by The BMJ.[6]
Also in 2019, the NNEdPro Mobile Teaching Kitchen Project (Bhavishya Shakti Initiative) received, Emerald Interdisciplinary Research Award.[7]
