Moon Sua (Korean문수아; born September 9, 1999) is a South Korean singer, rapper, dancer and lyricist. She is best known as a member of the girl group Billlie, which debuted in 2021 under Mystic Story, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment.

Early life edit

Moon Sua was born on September 9, 1999, in Cheongju, Chungbuk Province. She attended Shinbong High school and later transferred to Hanlim Multi Art School, graduating in Applied Music.[citation needed]

She has an older brother, Moonbin, who was a member of the South Korean boy group Astro.[1]

2009–2020: Pre-debut edit

At age 10, Moon Sua joined YG Entertainment in 2009. In 2011, she made an appearance in the music video for GD & TOP's "Knock Out". In 2012, YG Entertainment released a video hinting at plans to debut a 'Future 2NE1' with Moon Sua taking CL's role as the rapper. In 2015, she participated in the Mnet competition program Unpretty Rapstar 2 finishing as the third runner-up.[2][3] In 2016, YG Entertainment released a statement to clear up rumours about Moon Sua debuting with Blackpink.[4] In 2019, after spending 10 years as a trainee, she left YG Entertainment.

In 2020, she was officially revealed to be a member of Mystic Story's rookie development program, known as Mystic Rookies.[citation needed]

2021–present: Debut with Billlie, solo activities edit

Moon Sua debuted as part of the girl group Billlie on November 10, 2021. Their debut extended play, The Billage of Perception: Chapter One, contained six songs; including the lead single "Ring X Ring" which Moon Sua helped write.[5]

From August till November 2022, Moon Sua participated in JTBC's survival program The Second World where female idol rappers get to showcase their vocal abilities. She finished 5th overall.[6]

In December 2022, she released the OST "Like a Star" for JTBC's hit drama Reborn Rich.[7]
