The "USMC Standard Pattern" (Unofficially referred to as the "Mitchell pattern") was a camouflage pattern used by the US Armed Forces during the Vietnam War.[1]

The pattern was first seen in 1953 during a series of camouflage testing exercises in Panama.[2] The pattern was well received during and after the exercises, leading [3] However, the pattern would eventualy become heavily associated with the Vietnam war due to the heavy use of helmet covers with the pattern.
Because of it's popularity, The pattern was printed on numerous commercial items. Some of which were purchased by soldiers and used in the war.
