Millán Salcedo Salcedo (born April 14, 1955, in Brazatortas, Ciudad Real) is a Spanish actor and comedian, famous for his work alongside Josema Yuste and Fernando Conde in the group Martes y Trece.
Biography edit
He began his artistic career in theater, participating, for example, in the premiere of Las cítaras colgadas de los árboles (1974), by Antonio Gala, directed by José Luis Alonso Mañés.
His popularity came as a member of the comic trio Martes y Trece alongside Josema Yuste and Fernando Conde. After Conde's early departure, he achieved enormous popularity throughout Spain as a duo with Josema Yuste, performing with him for eight years (from 1989 to 1992 and from 1994 to 1997) in the New Year's Eve special programs on Televisión Española. On New Year's Eve in 1988, they had already hosted the countdown and the New Year's Eve gala, while in 1993 they made way in the schedule for Los Morancos and Cruz y Raya.
Shortly after the breakup of Martes y Trece in 1997, he wrote and directed the series Kety no para, which aired on Spanish television. He was also the creator of a program broadcast on Telecinco where he performed multiple acts, called Un millán de cosas.
Since the 2000s, he has focused his activity on theater, having participated in the play Salomé (2005), Los sobrinos del Capitán Grant —where he coincided with his former colleague Fernando Conde—, as well as in some zarzuelas.
In the spring of 2008, at the Teatro Infanta Isabel in Madrid, he presented a humorous and theatrical show, along with pianist César Belda, called Yo me subí a un piano verde, under the artistic direction of Joan Gràcia and Paco Mir. For two years, he toured Spain with this same show alongside pianist Marcos Cruz.
In December 2012, he premiered De verden cuando at the Teatro La Latina in Madrid, whose text was based on his previous work, Yo me subí a un piano verde. The show, which again featured pianist Marcos Cruz, ran at the theater until February 3, 2013.
In 2014, he co-hosted with Mariló Montero the program El pueblo más divertido de España on Televisión Española.
In 2019, he suffered an epileptic attack, which caused him to bite his tongue and required surgery. As a sequel to the accident, he finds it difficult to pronounce the letter "r". In that same year, he participated in the New Year's Eve special organized by José Mota, alongside his former Martes y Trece partner, Josema Yuste.
He has written humorous books such as Sufro Bucho, Cuando la aurora extiende su manto, En mis trece, among others.
