Microplastic maxxing or Microplastic maxing, or to Microplastic maxx, alternatively spelled as Microplastic max, Is the process of intentionally consuming large quantities microplastics.[1] The stated goal of Microplastic maxxing is to spread the microplastics into the environment, continuing the cycle of plastic pollution world wide.[1] Plastic consumption can be either be direct, (directly consuming plastic) or indirect, (drinking from plastic water bottles, for example). Various methods of indirect plastic consumption include eating and drinking with plastic utensils/dishes, using plastic as opposed to wooden toothpicks, drinking through plastic straws, using plastic cookware, cutting on plastic cutting boards, and storing food/beverages in plastic. Microplastic maxxing is an extremely niche online phenomenon surfacing on the internet in late 2023 and early 2024, most notably by youtuber Stoic Stick.
