A Short History of Sri Jatagiri Sankaradasumayya
Today we worshipped our deity Sri Jatagiri Sankaradasumaiah with Panchamrita and worshipped him with great devotion.
What is our caste ? what is the profession of our ancestors?
The Merus[1] were philanthropic reciters, Dhyutimantha, the teacher of the Merus, was a civilised man who taught human ethics and self-preservation.
Dyutimanthu is the saviour of the dependent people and the god of the caste. We must declare His glories. Through this vratha katha, we have come to know that, merus have taught the profession to all the fellow beings, and became, bhola shankar who gave boon to bhasmasura[2]. Our history, the occupational customs of the dying Merus should be known to the future generations.
The name of our ancestors Darja, Darji, Shivulu, Chippols, Varmas, Lingayat[3] Darjis, Marwadi Darjis and Jainadarjis, why do some other religious people have our surname and gotras? It is necessary to know why there was a need to hide the name of the Meru caste and mention the name of another caste.There is a need to do and study history and know Sri Jatagiri Sankara Dasumayya's vow to know the blessings received by the Meru castes and the curses they are experiencing.

I will briefly tell the history of Meruvamsa, listen carefully and then read the Vratha Katha in detail and be worthy of Sri Jatagirivasa's grace. The King of Meru Parvata married his daughters Ayati and Niyatula to the sons of Brigu Maharshi and gave the north-south countries of the border of Chandrabaga river as dowry. The son of Vidhata Niyatha is Prana.he is Very honest. Dyutimantha, was the son of Pandarika and prana. Daatha nad Ayatula's son was Mrikundamaharshi. Markandeya was the son of Mrikunda and Marudvati. The original teacher of the Meru culture was Dyutimantha. He worshipped, Sri Mahavishnu and received Karpasa seeds (Cotton seeds) and scissors-needles as gifts from them as boon. Dyutimanthu-Sugandi's gave birth to Unnatha, Swanavathu. Shwanavatu-Manavathi are the ones who left the kingdom and took up sewing as their caste profession. Their son is a civilised man. He improved the profession. He also designed clothes depending on the profession, for the baron, the king, the agriculturist. He is professional artist who knew to sew different shapes and according to the body shape of the woman - they designed the form of clothing in favor of Anga Saushtavam. (According the body shape) Sree Nagarika is the one who told the world about the rules and regulations of civilization, what is practicable and what is not. His wife is Vimala Devi. Nagarika and Vimala has a daughter who is the form of Jaganmata Parvati Devi named as Chandika Parameshwari. Lord Shiva incarnated to redeem the boons given to the devotees is Ishvaradas[4]. They are the descendants of Meru, who elaborated the order of life for mankind, the responsibilities of parents in child rearing, the gender determination of the unborn child and the order of pindotpathi, (Regeneration system) their names in different stages of human birth, the secrets of origin-linga-birth, and the secrets of karma phala at various stages after birth. To know, one must read the story of Sri Jathtagiri Shankardasumayya, which is our Meru vamsa Purana. Vrat should be done to obtain the fruit of the pious work. Our Meru Kula Deity Sri Shankaradasa, is the son of Chandikaparameshwari-Ishvaradasa who are the incarnations of Parvati Parameshwara. Our Sankaradasa is one of the most prominent educational workers. Sri Jatagiri Sankaradasu who married Sarvamangaladevi [5]the daughter of Maharishi Kapila, propagated the culture, taught and imparted values to his dependents, and not only protected the body from the wrath of nature, but also protected the mind.
