Mecca Esura

Mecca Esura is a popular American musician from Country Club Hills, IL, a small town just outside Chicago, IL. She's a singer, songwriter, and producer. Mecca Esura Smith was born on May 1st, 1998 at South Suburban Hospital to two loving parents, Sheree and Bryan Smith. At the age of 7, Mecca shocked all her friends and family when she sang at her school talent show. No one knew she had a voice until this day because she intentionally kept it hidden. She was very shy, but after this day Mecca's mom began training her at home, making her sing different challenging songs for hours on end to hone her musical gift. Her main genres are R&B, and indie music, and some of her main influences are Whitney Houston, Aaliyah, Erykah Badu, and Michael Jackson. She got her start to fame in the girl-group "BrookeWell" who went viral in 2016 after Mecca's mom posted a video of them singing on her Facebook page. Shortly after, the group was signed to R&B legend Latocha Scott and her husband Rocky Bivens. The group ended due to internal issues and after this Mecca decided to pursue a solo career and despite many deals being on the table, she decided to go independent. Mecca honed her sound and began releasing her own music in 2019, starting with her first single "Losing It" which trending really well, trending for several weeks. All her music can be found on all platforms including Apple Music, and Spotify.
