Marla Schweppe (born November 11, 1950) is a retired artist and designer in both digital and physical media having won xyz. After graduating from The University of Kansas in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology, Shweppe spent several years designing contemporary dance costumes for theater, television, and movies in over 30 countries.

Graduate work in computer graphics and animation at Ohio State University led to teaching post at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Directorship of the Learning Technologies Program at Northwestern, and the development of MFA and BFA programs in computer animation. In XYZ, Schweppe founded the BFA in 3DDD at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Her creative work includes live theater on virtual stages, live and virtual combined performance, AR theater, projection mapping, smart textiles, animatronics, explorations in physical interaction, and visualization/simulation of information and ideas.

Personal life

Warga was born to Wayne Arlington Warga, a studio employee, and Alma Joyce Warga Kelsey (Smith), a homemaker. Warga married Carol Reese, an artist and editor, on November 27, 1965, and was the father of writer, lecturer, and radio producer, Jake Warga. Warga was a collector of contemporary art and an avid fan of flying.[1]
