Draft:Margate Crab Museum


The Margate Crab Museum is a museum situated in the Old Town of Margate, Kent, United Kingdomabout crabs.

It claims to be: “Europe’s first and only museum dedicated to the world of the decapod”[1]

It is a comical museum about the significance of crabs and how crabs behave. It is also arguing against the London Science Museum’s Shellsponsorship of a climate change. [2][3]They are arguing (among others) for a boycott of the London Science Museum over this reason. The crab museum is also arguing against colonialism and capitalism, due to the environmental damage. This has caused for some negative feelings towards them.

The museum opened in 2021 with free admission (which is still the case).[4] It is supported entirely by donations and their gift shop. [5]

It is open from 11am till 5pm with last entries at 4:30pm It is open on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

It was created by Ned and Bertie Suesat-Williams with Chase Coley, who are directors.
