Malabanias Integrated School, or simply referred to as MIS or Malabanias IS in (Filipino: Paaralang Integrado ng Malabanias), is a public school institution located in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. Currently overseen by the Division of Angeles City, West District of Region III.

Malabanias Integrated School was established in the year 1984, originally named Malabanias Elementary School. It has transitioned from an elementary to an integrated school, now offering the K-12 curriculum to students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. This expansion was facilitated by the Department of Education's "DepED Managed Urban Public Integrated" program.[1][1]

Elementary edit

From kindergarten to grade six, Malabanias Integrated School offers a wide range of subjects in elementary school, including Filipino, English, Math, Science, MAPEH, Araling Panlipunan, Education sa Pagpapakatao and Technology Livelihood Education.

Junior High edit

After completing grade 6, students will now move to Junior High School on which they also take the eight core subjects of DepED. MIS is currently facilitating grades 7 through 10, with students getting ready to move into senior high school.

Senior High edit

At Malabanias Integrated School, students are prepared for Senior High School based on their skills and talents after selecting a track and strand. Currently, the school offers two tracks:

  • Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL)

- Information and Communication Technology (ICT), With Specialization in Animation

- Home Economics (HE)

  • General Academic Strand (GAS)

Awards and Recognition edit

On June 20, 2022, Malabanias Integrated School received the Most Prepared School Award at the 2021 National Awarding Ceremony in Iloilo.[2]

Malabanias Integrated School also receive an award at the D Best Award on September 24, 2021. Where the schools have been acknowledged for being a place of Best Practices and Nurturing Great Talents, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the students and the staff.[3]

Several Malabanias Integrated School educators were recognized in the Division's Search for Most Outstanding Teachers, Teacher Coordinators, and School Heads for the School Year 2021–2022. Notable awardees included exceptional elementary teachers, kindergarten teachers, and grade-specific teachers.[2]

The 2023 Division Search for Most Outstanding Teaching Personnel, School Heads, and Related Teaching Personnel recognized excellence in the educational community. Malabanias Integrated School received recognition for outstanding secondary teachers, senior high school teachers, and teacher coordinators. These recognitions enhance the school's reputation and emphasize its dedication to quality education.[3]

On July 23, 2023, a teacher from Malabanias Integrated School was highlighted in an article titled 'Attitudes Towards Philippine English: The Case of ESL Teachers in Selected Provinces in Central Luzon, Philippines.' The article suggests that the integration of Philippine English into ESL instruction could result in a more inclusive, engaging, and effective language learning experience.[4]

U.S Marines and Sailors Visit edit

In 2016, U.S. Marines and sailors helped paint, repair, and garden Malabanias Integrated School. Their efforts helped to improve the school environment and surroundings. This collaboration highlights the school's positive impact and community involvement.[5]

In Accordance with their Documentary Video of the Visit, U.S Marines and Sailors call the project as "community relations project" it was arranged through the VFW Post in Angeles City, and with their help they garden, remove vines and overgrown crops outside the school, and did some painting inside the school.[6]

Featured on Dapat Alam Mo! edit

On August 9, 2023, Angelino Jose "Anjo" Pertierra, a Filipino reporter, model, and volleyball player, visited Malabanias Integrated School to film a segment for "Dapat Alam Mo!" focusing on volleyball.

Subsequently, on August 15, 2023, the school's volleyball team, the MIS Titans, was featured on Philippine National Television on "Dapat Alam Mo!" hosted by Emil Sumangil, Patricia Tumulak, and Kim Atienza. In this segment, Anjo Pertierra, which film the segment on August 9, demonstrated various volleyball techniques and strategies, such as plyometrics, used by the MIS Titans. The segment premiered on GMA Public Affairs YouTube channel and Television on August 16, 2023.[7]
