MV Narrative, is a planned private residence cruise ship whereby condominiums can be purchased to live in while the vessel travels worldwide. The onboard community of global citizens come from all around the world. While some will choose to live on the ship full-time, others will come and go as they please, with some renting out their apartment when not in use. MV Narrative is owned and operated by Storylines Global Inc., which =is headquartered in Miami, Florida, United States.

The ship has 547 apartments ranging from US $875K for studios, up to US $8M for four-bedroom penthouses with decks.[1] There will also be a limited amount of 24-year leases available starting at US $647,000.[2] There are 20 restaurants, 3 pools and numerous other lifestyle facilities.

MV Narrative is designed by Tillberg Design of Sweden[3], with Brodosplit Shipyard in Croatia contracted for the build. The ship will be 55,000 gross tons, 741 feet in length, and 98 feet in width. MV Narrative will be powered by Liquid Natural Gas (LNG), one of its many sustainable travel and eco-conscious ship initiatives.[4] It will have 18 decks, 3 pools, and 20 restaurants and bars. Passenger capacity will be 1254 - 2000 people. The crew numbers are approximately 450. The ship's speed will be 23 kn / 43 kph / 25 mph. [5]

MV Narrative launch date is scheduled for 2024/25 from Split, Croatia. The ship will circumnavigate the globe 3.5 years continuously throughout its lifespan.

Original concept and founders edit

Storylines Global Inc. was originally conceived by Alister Punton and Shannon Lee. They have combined history and extensive experience in the real estate, construction, technology, and maritime industries. Their original plan involved a sustainable solution for discarded old cruise ships. The idea was to save the ships from waste by recycling, redesigning, and refurbishing them into residential ships on which people could travel the world from home. After experimenting with a few ships, they soon pivoted to design and build a luxury lifestyle ship from scratch as a solution. The company seeks to capitalize on the increase of people living on world cruises[6], and remote work trends post-pandemic.[7]

Facilities and amenities edit

The ship design has a large marina with direct access to the water's edge[8]. There is a wellness center complete with a day spa, meditation rooms, infrared saunas, gym, running track, yoga, Pilates, and meditation rooms. There are 3 pools, 20 restaurants and bars, a 10,000 book library, a micro-brewery, and a hydroponic garden. Most residences will come with their own kitchenette. For entertainment, there will be an art space, golf simulator, bowling alley, movie theatre, and live music performances. There will also be a variety of classes available on board, as well as organized shore excursions. MV Narrative provides internet access throughout the whole ship, including every residence.[9]

Contracts edit

In August 2022 Storylines Global Inc. and Brodosplit Shipyard signed a newbuild contract for 2025 delivery of the residence cruise ship.[10]
