Draft:Lochinvar Rovers Football Club

In 1975 Lochinvar Rovers Junior Soccer Club was formed by 3 families. Albert and Wendy Doel, John and Judy McLauchlan and Nan and Bill Lamb gained permission to play their early seasons at St Patrick's school oval until the grounds at Lochinvar Sports Complex were constructed. Albert, John, Des Maher and Jack Lane (Cricket) worked with Jack Peters from Maitland City Council to establish the current grounds the club still plays at.

Over the years many Club Members contributed to building up the Rovers to its current state from Caravan Canteens to the current modern Canteen.  The old equipment shed was updated to the current large facility and then the generous awning added on. The initial lighting to the upgrade we have now.  It has been through dedication, hard work and blood, sweat and tears that the Lochinvar Rovers have grown into such a wonderful Club with great facilities.

In keeping with the great club spirit players can now play their junior soccer, progress into playing all-age and then if keen enough play O/35 for Lochinvar. Our adult teams still have a number of players that played juniors with Lochinvar still playing, proving you never have to leave this great club. Our vision is to continue to grow the game and opportunities for those members in our club including all genders, cultures and abilities both on and off the field.

The club is a member of Hunter Valley Football Association[1]

In 2023 the club registered 535 players including 14 female teams.

Over the years many great players have kicked a ball at Lochinvar.

The club has developed facilities and opportunities offered and won a few awards including 2018 Northern NSW Football sponsored by Newcastle Permanent [2]

Lochinvar Rovers was the First Club in Australia to Achieve Level 3 FFA National Club Accreditation in Australia.

They achieved Runner Up in Asian Football Confederation (AFC) best grassroots club award [3]
