Lim Sing Hooi (Born 4 September 1988),Well-known Malaysian Chinese illustrator. Lim specialises in portrait illustrations, and his style is mainly expressed with watercolor rendering techniques and rough brushstrokes. Lim has been invited to draw portrait illustrations for international celebrities such as Eric Tsang, Nina Paw, Ekin Cheng, Charmaine Sheh, G.E.M. and other Hong Kong celebrities. Among them, the portraits of Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan, BigBang (South Korean band) and Malaysia’s top badminton player, Datuk Lee Chong Wei are particularly distinguished.[1]

Lim was born in Malaysia and developed a passion for painting from a young age under the influence of his uncle. He attended Confucian Private Secondary School in Kuala Lumpur, where he majored in Art and design, becoming part of the inaugural class for this program. During his time there, he organized a graduation art exhibition, with his portrait paintings being a standout feature.

Upon graduation, Lim pursued further studies at The One Academy, specializing in Illustration and Comics. While still a student, he began supporting himself through [[freelance art projects, including Logo design, Packaging design, and Interior design.

Upon a friend’s invitation, Lim began instructing at several small children’s art centers. During this time, he also engaged in educational comics, providing illustrations for both book covers and interior pages. In 2009, after completing his studies, Lim secured a position at a local Animation studio as a Storyboard artist and Illustrator, where he was tasked with developing visual content and illustrations.

In January 2011, Lim commenced his role as a Lecturer at The One Academy. During this period, he gained recognition from clients and was invited to contribute to the "Hope & Smile" Fundraising event organized by Datuk Lee Chong Wei, where he created artwork for the public. This also marked the first time Lim presented one of his portraits as a gift to Lee.

In November 2012, Lim created artwork for Hong Kong actor Wayne Lai, Singapore actor Henry Thia, John Cheng, and Malaysia Singer Karen Kong, who were involved in the filming of the movie The beggar hero in Malaysia.

In January 2013, Lim provided portrait paintings for a promotional ticket-signing event for the Malaysia of Wanting Qu's Everything in the world Asia tour.
