The Libyan Tatars (self-designation: либиүләр, либиү татарлары) are an ethnographic and sociocultural sub-group of Tatars inhabiting Libya. Libyan Tatars, inhabiting a historical coastal region of Cyrenaica, have established a presence dating back hundreds of years from the time of Ottoman Empire until today. The Libyan Tatars have intermixed with the local Libyan population and Turkomans. The Libyan Tatars can trace their ancestry to Crimean Tatars in Turkey, as well as Nogais. Their population as of 2023 is estimated to be 300-400 persons by local sources. They have arrived in Libya in 16th-20th centuries.
