editLendsqr was founded in 2018 by Adedeji Olowe, a pioneer of open banking [7] in Nigeria and Africa. [8][9]
In 2020, Lendsqr introduced its lending-as-a-service platform to digitize and manage the entire lifecycle of lending for lenders in Africa.[2][3][4]
In March 2022 the company raised $1,000,000 in pre seed funding [7].
In January 2023, Lendsqr launched Karma, its proprietary blacklist engine, to help Nigerian lenders combat fraudulent activities and block loan defaulters in the lending ecosystem [10] n the February of the same year, the company launched Adjutor to deliver credit decision and KYC validation services, aiding lenders in making well-informed decisions.
In November 2023, Lendsqr joined 44 other startups in Nigeria in being awarded an AI research grant by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy of the Federal Government of Nigeria [11].
