- Comment: The tone of this article remains highly problematic, despite a plethora of edits since the last review. This whole wall of text needs copy editing, removal of the multiple references and a consideration of the huge 83 references cited. Are these truly necessary to create a balanced, encyclopaedic article? I would counsel creating a much shorter, more factual and neutrally phrased article with fewer references to salient facts - I would also suggest a read of WP:FANCRUFT. Lee Ah-in (Korean: 이아인; born September 27, 1999), known mononymously as Ahin, is a South Korean singer, actress, television host, and model. She was a member of South Korean girl group Momoland from 2016 through 2023.[1][2][3][4]
Early life edit
Ahin was born on September 27, 1999, in Wonju, South Korea.[citation needed] At the of age six, Ahin moved to China, where she resided for 11 years; she studied at Usan Gangham Middle School and later Shanghai United International School for three years, where her education was based upon the IB Primary Years Programme and the International Curriculum of England.[5] When she returned to South Korea, she attended School of Performing Arts Seoul.[6]

2015–2017: Debut in Finding Momoland Talent Show edit
In late 2015, she received a message from Lee Hyung-jin, CEO of MLD Entertainment inviting her to be trained to be a K-pop artist. He flew to Shanghai to recruit her, explaining that the opportunity would require her to move back to Korea and train for two months before competing in a public audition for aspiring members of a new K-pop group.[7] The audition was actually part of a television reality show, Finding Momoland (모모 랜드 찾기), a talent show in which 10 contestants would compete for 7 spots in a new K-pop girl group to be called Momoland. Ahin was one of the winning contestants, coming in fourth place. Due to uncertainty on the group's reception, their debut was delayed; Momoland finally debuted on November 10, 2016, with their first extended play Welcome to Momoland, financed through crowdfunding.[8][9][10]
Solo work and Collaborations edit
In 2018, alongside Korean vocalist J_ust, Ahin recorded the duet "That Kind of Love", a slow ballad that contrasts her high voice with his melancholic vocals very differently from other repetoires.[11] In 2018 Ahin released a track called "I Need You and I Want You" with groupmate Taeha for Cross. She also recorded a solo ballad called "Because You're My Everything" for Different Dreams, a 2019 South Korean television series commemorating the centennial of the March 1st Movement which led to the formation of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in 1919.[12]
Ahin recorded a duet with DJ Soda on Purple Fly records, in an experimenet to create cryptocurrency NFTs to finance recordings and remunerate artists; the label drops NFTs with each track released and in August 2021, DJ Soda, Lost Chameleon, and Ahin released the bubblegum electropop track "Okay!".[13][14][15] In August 2022, she performed live with DJ Soda at the World DJ Festival.[16]
Fashion and Endorsements edit
In February 2022 the Italian edition of Vogue featured Ahin.[17] Vogue published a feature about K-pop stars, remarking on the signature use of pastels, in particular noting Ahin's "half dress" looks.[18] Ahin has done endorsements and modeling for the brands FrontRow International, Jucy Couture, and Too Cool for School.[19]
In an television and Metro Style interviews, she cited Ariana Grande as one of her influences, saying that "I've always looked up to Ariana Grande when it comes to performance, fashion, and beauty."[20][21]
Personal life edit
She has an older sister named Sophie who lives in Hong Kong, and her parents live in Shanghai. Her maternal grandmother still lives in Korea. Ahin is Catholic.[22] She has supported social causes, positive messaging, empowerment of women and girls and racial equality.[23] She and other members of Momoland have publicly supported Black Lives Matter.[24][25]

In 2019, Ahin appeared on King of Mask Singer as "Fortune Cookie". In September 2021 Ahin hosted the Airbang Simply KPop Concert which was broadcast in Korea and streamed worldwide. In January 2022, Ahin and groupmate Nancy were chosen to be co-hosts of the televised Fly High K-Pop Concert, a music festival designed to bring together new K-pop groups to communicate with international fans, held at the Ilsan Bitmaru Broadcasting Center near Seoul.[26][27]
