Kurmi caste is found in the region of Awadh,eastern up and Bihar and they are well educated caste and also one of the largest landholders after Brahmins and Rajuts.
Kurmi are known for their hardwork there is a good day in the region of awadh"baki sabhi jaat ke bacche gussate hai to idhar udhar bhagte hai aur kurmi ke bache khet me jate hai kisani karte hai"
