Kaze Uzumaki (born July 20, 1988) is an American born, German actor, director, rapper and voice actor. He made his lead acting debut in the Sky Series Funeral For A Dog (2022), and is best known for portraying the deranged method actor Tetsuo in My Method.[1]
Early life edit
Uzumaki was born in New York, New York. He is the son of an American-Japanese father and an African mother.[2]
Career edit
Uzumaki started off as a voice actor and screenplay translator in Germany. He made his voice dubbing debut voicing DeAndre Jordan in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. He has since voiced Actors like Daniel Kaluuya, Melvin Gregg, Damson Idris, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Shane Paul McGhie, Kareem J. Grimes, Mike Moh as Bruce Lee and many more actors in the German translations of their movies. He also translated Series such as Atlanta, Betty, Money Heist, Dave, Fairfax, Colin in Black & White, Reboot, The Bear, 6 Underground, Hustle and many other movies and series.[1]
In 2021 Uzumaki was featured in a New York Times article titled "Pixar's 'Soul' Has a Black Hero. In Denmark, a White Actor Dubs the Voice" where he shines a light on what it is like to be one id the one of the only people of color in the voice dubbing scene in Germany.[2]
Uzumaki began his on screen acting career in 2022 in the Sky Series Funeral of a Dog. In 2023 he wrote, directed and acted in his own low-budget Short Movie My Method. Which is already critically acclaimed and has won multiple awards at various film festivals across the world, including a best actor and two best first time director awards.
