Karisma and Dark Essence Records is a Norwegian record label with a focus towards underground music in different genres. KARISMA RECORDS was founded in the spring of 2003 by Andreas Ginsbak Notland and Robin Mortensen in Bergen. The same year, the side company DARK ESSENCE RECORDS was included, and Ørjan Nordvik and Martin Kvam became part of the company. The official establishment as a company was in 03.05.2004. Genre: Progressive rock, alternative/indie rock, black metal, extreme metal and other alternative genres. The company has its headquartered in Bergen and released music by Norwegian and international artists, including Airbag, Arabs in Aspic, Bjørn Riis, Black Magic, Brimstone, Dobbeltgjänger, Fervent Mind, Himmellegeme, Jordsjø, Ljungblut, Lucy in Blue, Magic Pie, Malice in Wonderland, MEER , Nordagust, Oak, Ossicles, Plenty, Seven Impale, Shaman Elephant, Syme,Tiebreaker, Twilight, Virus and Wobbler. In later years, the company entered into a partnership with Apollon records. Apollon Records, which is mainly a publisher of pop and rock. Apollon Records Prog is a subsidiary of Apollon Records, and stands for releases with progressive rock bands. The record company itself is responsible for worldwide distribution of its artists' products. After the merger with Apollon records, the company Karisma & Dark Essence Records has gained greater national and international status. The company has included, among other things, artists such as Seigmen, T.O.M.B., Taake, Airbag, Wobbler, Tussmørket, Aeternus and many more major national and international artists. In addition, Karisma & Dark Essence Records AS were among the industry winners in Bergen in 2021.
