Kathra Sundareswarar Temple is a Shiva temple situated at Kanjanagaram in Mayiladuthurai district (previously Nagapattinam district) of Tamil Nadu state in India.[1][2][3][4] Shiva is the main deity and goddess is Thungabalasthanambigai in this temple. Kanjanagaram is the birth place of Manakanchara Nayanar.

editVeda Vyasa and his son Shuka Brahmarishi are believed to have worshipped the goddess of this temple.[5]

editThis temple is maintained under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.[7]
