Kamal Chandra (born 27 November 1984) is an Indian film director and actor known for his works in Hindi cinema. He is best known for his film Hamare Baarah, based on women empowerment and challenges toxic male patriarchy starring Annu Kapoor, Ashwini Kalsekar and Manoj Joshi.
Life and career
editKamal Chandra, born on 27 November 1984 in Aligarh, India, pursued post-graduation in theatre and performing arts from BNA, Lucknow, and a film orientation course in direction at FTII, Pune. He also holds a PG in journalism and mass communication from UPRTOU, Prayagraj. Chandra began his career in the film industry as an assistant director and script supervisor, working with directors like Late Kundan Shah, Sudhir Mishra, and Ratna Sinha on films such as Ye Sali Zindagi, P se PM Tak, Daas Dev, and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. He has also directed music videos for Arijit Singh, B Praak, Jaani, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Yaseer Desai, and has worked on various TV commercials. His notable films include Ab Dilli Dur Nahin (2023), Hamare Baarah (2024), and Boondi Raita (2024).
