KMG Drilling & Services (KMGDS) A state-owned company, in the field of drilling operations, of Kazakhstan.
The company provides a range of production services for drilling and construction of oil wells in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.[2] It was founded in 2008, with its original name as LLP "Teniz Burgylau". At that time, it was a wholly owned subsidiary by KazMunayTeniz, but in 2014, it was renamed to its current name with KazMunayGas buying all shares.[3]
Satti JUDR
editThe Caspian Drilling Company Ltd. (CDC) held a ceremony to launch the Satti Jack-Up Drilling Rig (JUDR) at its marine and logistics base. The Satti JUDR, fully constructed in Kazakhstan, was modified in June 2021, increasing its load capacity from 453 tons to 680 tons, and is now capable of drilling oil and gas wells to depths of over 6,000 meters.[4] The rig will be utilized in the Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula (SWAP) project, operated by British Petroleum Absheron Limited. The project highlights Kazakhstan's engagement in international oilfield services, with the rig being owned by KMG Drilling & Services LLP, and operated by CDC. This follows a memorandum of understanding and a joint operations agreement between KMG and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan. [5]
