Born in Paris in 1980, Julien Uzan decides to move to Tokyo in his early twenties. Working first as a French/English teacher, then as a freelance interpreter from 2015, his job gave him the opportunity to work with all major TV stations in Tokyo, including for a program in which Beat Takeshi was the anchor. He ended up working for him on a weekly basis during 4 years from 2018, until Takeshi san decided to refocus on film production with “Kubi” and left the show in March 2022. After releasing two Japanese short movies as writer (writing all the dialogues in Japanese) producer and editor on Prime Video in June 2022, he decides to write, produce, edit and this time direct his first feature film. He talked about the project to Beat Takeshi who after reading the script decides to support him by doing a small cameo in it. With almost all his savings, he starts filming ‘In Your Blood: Hoki Naiden’ in June 2022 and finishes its editing in March 2024.
