Jorjeana Marie is an American author, screenwriter and comedian. She is the author of Improv for Writers, which hit the Los Angeles Times bestseller list,[citation needed] a nationally touring stand-up comedian and producer of the acclaimed[citation needed] sketch comedy show JoJo & Friends. Her extensive comedy experience at iO Theater, Upright Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings has led her to teach story workshops at Disney, Cartoon Network and Google.

A prolific voice actor, Jorjeana Marie has narrated over five hundred audiobooks. Publishers Weekly calls her narration “pitch perfect”[1] and Paste magazine labeled her a ‘powerhouse.”[2]

Early life

Jorjeana grew up in rural Pennsylvania and moved to New York City as a teen where she began performing stand up comedy. She attended the Dramatic Writing Program at New York University Tisch School of the Arts and received her Master of Fine Arts from the Vermont College of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults.

In 2019, Jorjeana Marie published her debut book, Improv for Writers: 10 Secrets to Help Novelists and Screenwriters Bypass Writer's Block and Generate Infinite Ideas,[3] a non-fiction book on the craft of writing utilizing games and exercises from improv theater and comedy. Improv for Writers was published on August 17, 2019 by Ten Speed Press an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Jorjeana starred in Listen to Grandpa, Andy Ling[4] with Randall Park and Elliott Gould as Randall Park’s ex-girlfriend Jill.

Theatre

As a playwright, Jorjeana’s plays have been produced at PS 122, 78th Street Theatre and at The Neighborhood Playhouse. Her first full-length play was adapted from her solo show of the same name. Ally, MaryJane & Me was originally a solo show that the author performed in Los Angeles and New York, where it won the NYC Theater Slam's Popular Vote.[5]

She is co-owner of Autumn Leaf Productions with her partner Phillip Mosness, a Disney animation story artist. Together they have created multiple award-winning short films such as “Doorknobs”[7] that have appeared in festivals throughout the United States.

Jorjeana is the recurring character Trickini, a female magician, which she also created as a writer. This character has appeared across two animated television series for Disney: Mickey and the Roadster Racers[8] and Mickey Mouse Funhouse.[9]

Jorjeana Marie has been narrating audiobooks since 2012. She has won 1 Audie Award, received 13 Earphones Awards and an honor from the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS) for  Super Amoeba: Squish, Book 1[10]. Jorjeana is the voice of the new “Nancy Drew Diaries” series by Carolyn Keene. She has been honored for her narrations of I Was Here by Gayle Forman,[11] Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys,[12] We Are Okay by Nina LaCour,[13] and Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum,[14] among others.

Video Games

Jorjeana Marie has also lent her voice to video games such as Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, where she voiced the character Fischer Frey.
