John Morris Goodwin (14 March 1859 – 15 February 1938) was a Welsh sports shooter. He competed for Great Britain in the men's trap event at the 1912 Summer Olympics where he ranked 56th.[1][2]
Personal Life edit
Born in Wales, Goodwin spent much of his life in London area working in the building trade.[3]
He was a keen sportsman, competing in various shooting events as well as cycle racing at Lillie Bridge.
On his death in 1938 he left an estate worth some £7m in modern money.[3]
Shooting Career edit
Goodwin was a Volunteer with the Bloomsbury Rifles, representing the regiment in rifle shooting at the National Rifle Association's Imperial Meeting at Wimbledon and Bisley Camp.[3]
Goodwin was one of nine Britons selected to compete at the 1912 Summer Olympics in the men's trap event.[3] He finished 56th of 61.[3]
