Joachim and the Apocalypse (Il Monaco che vinse l'Apocalisse)..[1] Is an upcoming Italian historical and spiritual film, and based on the apocalypse described by the mystic Joachim of Fiore.

Plot

edit

The age we live in is marked by wars, conflicts and crises, as well as economic, social and existential uncertainties. A Monk living in the Middle Ages had a vision of all this, a good eight centuries before our time. In the mountains of Sila (Southern Italy), the Monk transformed his visions into images (figurae) and symbols to form the Liber Figurarum, or “Book of Figures.” After more than 800 years this ancient medieval illuminated codex is still with us and is now preserved in England, at Oxford.

Cast

edit

The film starred a significant cast, including Emmy Award-winning American actor Nikolay Moss[2], who played King Richard I of England, aka the Lionheart. Australian-British actor Bill Hutchens in the role of the Jewish Cabalist, but also the Italian actress Elisabetta Pellini who played the role of Constance of Altavilla.
