In her early years, Bailey graduated from Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois. She then continued her education at the University of Notre Dame (1997-2001), where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government. Finally, she concluded her education at Yale University (2002-2004), where she received her Master’s Degree in International Relations.

Jessica Bailey is the President and CEO of Nuveen Green Capital, a prominent player in sustainable commercial real estate finance. She co-founded Greenworks Lending, the largest provider of Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) financing in the United States, helping establish C-PACE as a mainstream tool for clean energy upgrades in commercial real estate. Under her leadership, Greenworks Lending became a national platform operating in over 30 states, raised and deployed over a billion dollars in debt and equity, and achieved double-digit annual growth.
In 2021, Jessica led Greenworks Lending through a successful acquisition by Nuveen, subsequently rebranded as Nuveen Green Capital. Her achievements have been recognized, with accolades such as being named a GlobeSt. Woman of Influence in 2023 and earning joint recognition with Ali Cooley as "CRE’s Best Bosses" by GlobeSt. in the same year. Additionally, they were recognized as "50 Most Important Figures of Commercial Real Estate Finance" by Commercial Observer in 2022.
Jessica's contributions extend to her time at the Connecticut Green Bank, where she designed and led the award-winning C-PACE program from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, she worked at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund in New York from 2004 to 2012. Her leadership and entrepreneurial skills were acknowledged with the Ernst and Young Entrepreneurial Winning Woman award in 2019, and she was named in Connecticut Magazine's "40 under 40" in the same year. In 2014, the White House recognized her as a "Champion of Change" for her contributions to solar deployment. Jessica holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s degree from Yale University.
