Agler began his professional career in 2005 after graduating from the University of Miami.[1] Agler worked a range of jobs located in Florida in his early career, including stints as an play-by-play man for an independent league baseball team and as pregame and postgame radio host for the then-Florida Marlins, the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League and the University of Miami Hurricanes’ football and basketball teams.

Agler joined the San Diego Padres front office in February of 2014 as a broadcaster and as director of content, with oversight for all club digital and social operations. He has been the lead play-by-play broadcaster for the Padres' flagship 97.3 The Fan radio station since 2021.

Agler's attention to detail and data as an MLB broadcaster has been reported on as recently as 2023, with his penchant for maintaining robust logs of stories, trivia and data chronicled by The San Diego Union-Tribune in a profile that year.[2]

In addition to his work as a baseball announcer, Agler is also regularly involved in NCAA college football broadcasting.[3]
