James Sinclair (born June 14, 1985) is an entrepreneur, author and former children's entertainer.

Starting his career as a magician aged 15,[1] Sinclair has gone on to create a multi-million-pound business portfolio. His family-oriented brands, which include the Rossi Ice Cream Company and Marsh Farm Animal Adventure Park in Essex, generate more than £40 million revenue each year.[2] Sinclair's businesses employ more than 1,000 members of staff.[3]

Early Career

edit

At the age of 18, Sinclair turned more than £1,000 per week through his first entertainment business, Jimbo the Partyman.

By age 20, he secured £700,000 from 21 separate lenders to buy and set up his first soft play centre in Basildon, Partyman World of Play.[4] Within a year, that business generated more than £1 million in annual turnover.

In total, there are now eight Partyman World locations throughout the south of England.[5]

Present Day

edit

Sinclair's business portfolio includes the Rossi Ice Cream Company, Partyman World, Twizzle Tops Day Nurseries, and Teddy Tastic Bear Co, along with the Lee Valley and Marsh Farm animal adventure parks in Essex.

In 2023, he bought party supplies business Party Pieces out of administration.[6] Founded by the Princess of Wales' parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, in 1987, the firm went into insolvency following the Coronavirus pandemic.

The company has since gone on to introduce Crafty Pieces,[7] as a spin-off of the Party Pieces brand.

Entrepreneurship

edit

In addition to his financial success, Sinclair has penned four books, appeared in hundreds of YouTube videos[8] and podcast episodes, and is a regular speaker at business events.

Throughout more than 400 podcast episodes,[9] Sinclair aims to help entrepreneurs facing difficulties which their peers "cannot relate to".

In 2023, American Express sponsored a series of 12 YouTube videos starring Sinclair, aimed at educating UK entrepreneurs in masterclass-style videos.

Sinclair regularly hosts events such as the Business Masterclass,[10] in which he shares guidance on how businesspeople can take their companies "to the next level".

Charity

edit

Founded on Sinclair's 30th birthday in 2015, Partyman's Magic Makers[11] is a Gift Aid-registered charity which helps children and their families living with serious and life-limiting illnesses. It offers enriching experiences to children, along with providing medical equipment and improving accessibility at home.

Through annual charity dinners, where high-profile businesspeople are encouraged to donate, more than £100,000 has been raised over the last three years.[12]
