James Delegat (born December 11, 1998) is a New Zealand-born student and aspiring viticulturist/oenologist, currently studying at the University of Adelaide. He is part of the Delegat family, well-known in the global wine industry.
Early Life and Education edit
James Delegat was born in Auckland, New Zealand, to Jakov "Jim" Delegat and Kate Delegat. Growing up in a family with a strong wine industry background, James developed an early interest in viticulture and winemaking.
James attended primary at King's School[1] before attending Saint Kentigern College.[2] He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology at The University of Adelaide[3] in South Australia. His academic focus is on becoming a degree-qualified winemaker and viticulturist, with an objective to contribute to world-class winery operations and wine production.[4]

The Delegat family is renowned in the wine industry. The family business, Delegat, has grown significantly under the leadership of James's father, Jim Delegat, and his sister Rosemari. The National Business Review listed their wealth at $660 million in a recent Rich List, highlighting their success in the industry.[5]
Delegat, the family's wine company, is recognized for its global presence and focus on producing Super Premium wines. The company has expanded considerably since 2002, with investments in state-of-the-art wineries and world-class vineyards in key grape-growing regions of New Zealand and Australia.[6]
