The Interdisciplinary Microsystems Group (IMG) is a college-wide multi-departmental education and research program within the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. Founded in 1998, IMG focuses on the design, fabrication, characterization, and deployment of micro- and nanosystems across various industries, including healthcare, energy, security, aerospace, transportation, and consumer electronics.[1]

IMG operates under the direction of faculty from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida.

Research

edit

Since its inception, IMG has been involved in over 350 sponsored research projects with a total value exceeding $150 million, of which IMG's portion is $72 million. Approximately 80% of these projects were led by an IMG faculty member as the principal investigator, and 27% involved more than one IMG investigator.
