In the Rearview (Polish: Skąd dokąd, Ukrainian: Звідки куди / Zvidky kudy) is a 2023 documentary film directed by Maciek Hamela in his directorial debut[1], about the evacuation of Ukrainian refugees onboard a Polish van during the war. It is a co-production between Poland, France and Ukraine [2][3][4].
In the Rearview had its World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in the ACID section[5] and its Polish Premiere at the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival—the largest documentary film festival in Poland[6], where it received the Best Polish Film Award and the Arthouse Cinema Association Award[7]. The film then had its International Premiere at Sheffield DocFest, where it won the Grand Jury Award, a qualification for the Academy Awards in the documentary feature film category[8].
