Hypotrachyna mcmulliniana is a species of foliose lichen in the family Parmeliaceae.[1] This species is most common in the southeast of North America; however, it has been observed as far north as Connecticut.[1] This lichen grows on conifers and hardwood trees and shrubs, and also grows on rocks.[1]
This species is named after R. Troy McMullin, a lichen researcher at the Canadian Museum of Nature and an educator as well.[1] This species of fungus has a diameter ranging from 3-10 cm.[1] The color of this fungus is best described as gray or a blue-gray.[1]
