Draft:Harrisburg, Arizona

Harrisburg was a short-lived mill town located in La Paz County, Arizona and established in 1886 by Captain Charles Harris and Governor Fredrick Tritle to process ore from nearby mines, including the Socorro. The town grew quickly, and by 1887, two mills were in operation. A post office was established on April 29, 1887, but was discontinued on September 29, 1906. Harrisburg eventually declined and became a ghost town by World War I.
