Hanan Azulay (Hebrew: חנן אזולאי; born March 23, 1958) is an Israeli former football player.
Personal life
editOne of nine children, Azulay was born in Jerusalem. His brother is the former player Haim Azulay. Since 1992, Hanan Azulay has lived in Tomer.[1]
Playing career
editAzulay started his career at Beitar Jerusalem playing as a defender[1] for the senior team from 1975. In his first season, Beitar won the Israel State Cup for the first time in the club's history. From 1982, he captained the side for seven seasons. The club won the State Cup four more times with Azulay, and won their first championship in the 1986–87 season.[1]
Azulay made 396 appearances for Beitar; only Uri Malmilian has more appearances.[1]
Managerial career
editIn 1999 he helped establish Hapoel Bik'at HaYarden, where he is now head coach.[2]
