Hacktivist Vanguard (HV) is an Indian hacker organization founded on January 26, 2023, by Santhosh Kumar. The group is known for its involvement in various cyber operations targeting educational institutions, government websites, and entities in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

Hacktivist Vanguard has been involved in Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, website defacements, and the deactivation of government domains. According to Radware, Pakistan has been one of the most frequently attacked countries, primarily by Indian hacktivists, including Hacktivist Vanguard.[1] ProPakistani reported that Hacktivist Vanguard, along with Team UCC , Error 404 , claimed responsibility for cyber-attacks on Pakistan’s .gov.pk domain and critical websites in the government, defense, aviation, and banking sectors.[2]

As per Cyfirma, Hacktivist Vanguard is also known for targeting allies of Palestine in their cyber operations.[3] These activities are part of a broader trend where Indian hacktivist groups engage in cyber-attacks against other countries' cyberspaces, prompting counterattacks from targeted nations.[3] This cycle of retaliation reflects a growing trend of hacktivist activities resembling a virtual conflict between nations.
