Gregory Golub is an Israeli composer, jazz pianist, and songwriter, originally born in the USSR.
Biography
editEarly Life
editGregory is a self-taught pianist from the age of 12. Later pursuing formal musical education in the former USSR. During this time, he gained recognition for his original jazz compositions, receiving an excellence prize for the best original Jazz composition at the 1980 Jazz Festival in Saratov.
Musical Career in Israel
editIn 1990, Gregory Golub moved to Israel, where he has since been engaged in the creation of music. Throughout his career, Gregory has composed a diverse range of multi-genre musical compositions, songs, and thought-provoking poetic texts, as well as original interpretation of famous jazz standards.
Gregory has presented six solo programs. showcasing his original instrumental compositions, songs, and poems, and he has made appearances on various television and radio programs.

editIn 2004, Gregory released the album "Idioms", featuring original instrumental jazz compositions, piano and vocal jazz improvisations.
"Jazz Aftertaste" Album

In 2019, Gregory released "Jazz Aftertaste"[1], an album featuring 12 original jazz compositions spanning diverse genres, from blues to electronic and Latin music. The album reflects his enduring love for jazz and improvisation.
Recent Performances
editOn October 1, 2021, Gregory premiered "From Jazz to Classics and Back"[2] in Tel Aviv.
On May 20, 2023, he introduced his latest solo program, "Jazz Aftertaste".

editIn 2024 Gregory Golub's composition "Waltz-Rag" has garnered the attention of the renowned Jazz journalist Scott Yanow, who wrote a review at All About Jazz, praising Golub's latest release for its multi-genre approach and captivating blend of styles. According to Yanow, "Gregory Golub can always be relied upon to record and perform music that is colorful, intriguing, memorable, and easily enjoyable"[3]
In addition, Gregory Golub's composition "Waltz Rag" achieved significant music fan recognition in 2024, securing the top spot in All About Jazz's prestigious list of the Jazz Top 10 Songs of the Month of May 2024[4][5]
