Giacomo Balzarini (born 1968) is a Swiss manager. He has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of PSP Swiss Property, one of Switzerland’s largest real estate companies, since 2007 and the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since 2017.[1] In 2015 he was elected Switzerland‘s CFO of the Year.[2]
Education
editBalzarini completed his studies of business administration and economics in 1996 with a lic. oec. publ. from the University of Zurich[3]. In 2002 he obtained an MBA from the University of Chicago (Ill., USA).[4]
Career
editBalzarini worked for Union Bank of Switzerland in Zurich from 1993 to 1996 in the areas of corporate account management and business development. From 1997 until 2006 he worked at Swiss Reinsurance Company in risk and project management, strategic development and asset management; his last position was Managing Director, responsible for building up the company’s indirect international real estate portfolio.[5]

editIn addition to his mandates at the subsidiaries of PSP Swiss Property Ltd, Balzarini holds the following functions and offices: • Chairman of the Board of Directors of Seewarte Holding Ltd, Zug[6] • Member of the Board of Trustees of Ernst Göhner Foundation, Zug[6] • Chairman of the EPRA Best Practices Committee of the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA) and, from September 2022, Chairman of the EPRA Accounting & Reporting Committee, Brussels.[7]
