George H. Worster (September 5, 1871 – February 26, 1965)[1] was a justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court from December 21, 1939 to July 31, 1942.
Born to George W. and Margaret Nason Worster.[1]
graduate of Kenduskeag Free High School and attended Hampden Academy before entering the University of Maine where he studied law. He received his LLB from the university in 1905, his LLM in 1906 and LLD in 1941.[1]
In 1924, he was appointed to a six-year term on the Superior Court of Penobscot County.[1]
Following the reorganization of the Maine Court system in 1930, he became a justice of the superior court, and was reappointed in 1938. The following year he resigned to become an associate justice of the Supreme Judicial Court, a post he held until his resignation in 1942.[1]
[E]ducated at the Kenduskeag Free School... He then attended Hampden Academy for one year. In 1893, Worster worked as a messenger at the Penobscot County Courthouse and read law at the office of Charles A. Bailey and former Governor Davis.[3]
He married Carrie E. Rich, with whom he had one son. His wife died in 1958.[1]}}
