Gavin Greenwood #44 is a nationally ranked high school football player hailing from the state of Utah. He began his football journey at the age of 7, showcasing his skills as a quarterback and linebacker for the Clearfield Thunder. Gavin later transferred to Plain City, where he embarked on a new chapter with the Wolfpack in 2017 and started as both a Running back and a Linebacker.
During his years in the sport, Gavin Greenwood has caught the attention of many college coaches despite his young age. During his time the WFFL, he was ranked as the #2 player overall in 2015, the #4 player in 2016, and again as the #4 player in 2017.[1].
At the age of 13, Gavin was placed on the "watch roster"[2] of two Division 1 schools, The University of Southern Florida[3], and Penn State[4] in addition to seven Division 2 schools[5]. This achievement made him one of the youngest players to date to be featured on multiple college "watch lists" for the promising players[6] for the class of 2025.
Gavin Greenwood entered high school and played his freshman year for Wahlquist[7] in Plain City Utah, where he made a significant impact as a true freshman. During his freshman year, he ran for 14 touchdowns and was credited with 26.5 sacks, acting as a large contributor to taking Wahlquist to the final playoff game where the lost by 1 point with less than 2 seconds remanning.
In 2022, Gavin Greenwood started on the varsity squad at Highlands Ranch High[8] School in Denver, Colorado as a Sophomore. He started in 9 out of 11 varsity games. As well as playing on the Junior Varsity team where he started in all 10 games, being one of only a few players historically to play both Varsity and Junior Varsity during the same season[9]
Gavin Greenwood's journey in football has been marked by many achievements- including league MVP, Sports Illustrated Outstanding position award[10], and lettering as a Varsity player as a sophomore. As a nationally ranked high school football player, he continues to captured the attention of University scouts around the country.
