In mathematics, a "finagle" is any variable that is raised to the exponent or power of zero (0), which always equals 1 (with the exception of zero raised to the exponent or power of 0 which is "undefined").
The terminology "finagle" was coined in the year 2023 by the American Lisa Sills shortly after watching the television game show "Let's Make A Deal," hosted by Wayne Brady, where the host said "bagel for the finagle" to a contestant on the game show who was wearing a Naruto (Japanese anime) t-shirt. Sills misheard Wayne Brady, thinking that he said "finagle to the bagel," which sounds like a mathematics euphemism, or "finagle [raised] to the [power or exponent of] bagel." A finagle is any variable raised to the power or exponent of zero (0), which is shaped like a bagel, and always equals 1, or a whole bagel (with the exception of zero raised to the exponent or power of 0, which is "undefined").
