Filestack is a technology organization with its origins in San Antonio, Texas, starting in 2012. It was founded by a group of individuals, including MIT students and an alumnus of the Y Combinator program.

The company secured an initial capital investment of $1.8 million from notable sources such as Andreessen Horowitz, Highland Capital, and SV Angel due to its innovative ideas and dedication. As it progressed, Filestack received further financial backing from Xenon Ventures.[2]

In 2015, Filestack was acquired by Scaleworks, a dynamic San Antonio-based enterprise led by Lew Moorman, resulting in a new chapter under the Filestack brand.[3]

In 2018, Filestack completed the acquisition of TINT, a user-generated content platform specializing in social media marketing and content display tools for user-generated content discovery and curation.[4]

While Filestack's roots remain in San Antonio, the organization has expanded its presence with a fully staffed office in Krakow, Poland, reflecting its commitment to global expansion.

In January 2022, Idera, Inc. acquired Filestack, Inc., a developer-focused file upload and management service for an undisclosed amount. Filestack, is now part of Idera's Developer Tools business unit, including apilayer, Embarcadero, Froala, FusionCharts, LANSA, Sencha, UltraEdit, and Whole Tomato.[6]
