Francis Talbot "Fannie" Littleton Kline

Fannie Littleton Kline was born on October 16, 1869 in Houston, Texas.[1]

Fannie Littleton Kline was the first woman to receive private instruction by a male teacher at the University of Virginia in 1893.[2] Kline was taught by John William Mallet. Mallet wrote to the Cornell University's Chemistry Department, vouching for Kline's work, and she later received two years' worth of chemistry credits from Cornell University.

Kline finished her dissertation for a Doctor's degree from Ann Arbor University.[3]

Fannie Littleton Kline died at age 88 on June 18, 1958 in Houston, Texas and is buried at Forest Park Cemetery.[1]
