The European Olympic Academies (EOA) is the umbrella organisation of National Olympic Academies in Europe with the aim of promoting Olympic Values and Heritage at the European level.
The EOA is a registered association under German law with a non-profit purpose and has its legal seat and head office in Frankfurt, Germany.[1][2]
Its affiliated partner at the continental level is the European Olympic Committees with whom the EOA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding.[3][4]
Structure edit
The main body is the General Assembly, consisting of National Olympic Academies/National Olympic Committees in Europe that have membership in the EOA.[1] With the addition of the National Olympic Academies of Andorra, Ireland, Luxembourg and Romania at the EOA Congress in Vilnius[5], the EOA currently has 34 members.[6][7]
The Executive Board which is elected by the General Assembly every four years consists of the President, two Vice-Presidents, General Secretary, Treasurer and two Additional Board Members. The current President is Manfred Lämmer.[8][9]
