edit2019–2022: Broadway debut, The Search For Roxie!
editOriginally announced September 9, 2019, The Search For Roxie! was a video series partnership between Chicago and Broadway.com to find the next Roxie Hart from actors across the nation.[4] After Pittman submitted her audition tape, she was chosen to be a top 10 finalist on October 23 by Charlotte d'Amboise in addition to casting directors Duncan Stewart and Benton Whitely.[5] Top 3 finalists were put up to a fan vote in which winners were flown to New York City to do a "Roxie Bootcamp" and final audition in front of Stewart, Ann Reinking, Bebe Neuwirth and Bianca Marroquín. Finalists included Emma Pittman, Kate Gulotta and Khalifa White.[6]
After Pittman was selected as the winner for the The Search for Roxie!, the broadway debut was put on hold as the Covid-19 pandemic shut down all Broadway theaters in March of 2020.[7] However, it was announced on June 6, 2022 that Pittman would have a two-week limited run in the Ambassador Theatre as Roxie Hart.[8] Pittman's run would be extended for another week.[9][10] In December 2022 Pittman would be invited back to Chicago to fulfill an ensemble position as well as a Roxie Hart understudy.[11]

Jacobs Theatre the following year on March 16, 2024.[16] The original musical was nominated for 12 Tony awards and received the Tony award for Best Musical in addition to Best Direction of a Musical, Lighting Design, and Sound Design.[17][18] On April 16, 2024 it was announced that Pittman would do a limited vlog series in collaboration with Broadway.com known as Call Me Cherry.[19] Releasing weekly, the episodes followed Pittman giving an insiders' look from opening night of The Outsiders to Tony award nominations, as well as day to day operations.[20][21] The series ended on June 11, 2024.[22]
