EzLicence is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) marketplace that was founded in 2016 to help learner drivers find driving instructors. The platform provides a user-friendly, online interface to connect learners with certified driving instructors. EzLicence is headquartered in Adelaide, Australia, with additional staff based in Melbourne, Brisbane, and London, UK.[1]
History
Founding Team
EzLicence was founded in Adelaide in 2016 by Tobi Pearce, Andrew Rawlinson, Simon Strode, and Hinney Lo.[2] Tobi Pearce launched EzLicence after selling Sweat for $400million with then partner Kayla Itsines.[3][4] In October 2016, the pair was included in the BRW "Young Rich" list of the wealthiest Australians aged under 40 who had not inherited their money.[5]
The team recognised the need to modernise and simplify the process of finding and booking driving instructors, and combined their expertise in technology, business development, and education to create a platform that met the needs of the market.
Expansion in Australia
The company launched its operations in Australia, starting in Sydney. It quickly gained traction and expanded to major cities across the country, including Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, and Canberra, in addition to serving many regional centres.[6] This expansion brought EzLicence's services to a broad and diverse range of learners and instructors throughout Australia. The platform has the largest number of independent driving instructors in the country.[7]
International Expansion
In October 2023, EzLicence took its first step towards international expansion by launching its services in the United Kingdom.[8] This move marked a significant milestone in the company's growth and its mission to make driver education more accessible and efficient.
