The Pen Duick III, a Duralinex sailboat, leaving the harbour of Aberwrac'h (Britanny, France)

Duralinox is a light forged and laminated stainless alloy, with density of 2.66 g/cm³. It is based on aluminum with 5-12% magnesium, and does not need heat treatment. Its name refers to durability ("dural-") and corrosion resistance ("-inox", as in not subject to oxidation). It can be hot-worked, and is used in the construction of sailboat hulls, car bodies, and other such items due to the ease with which it can be worked. It is also used in autogenous welding.
