A pediatrician, Dr. Cynthia Berberian Hale, turned aside from pursuing a concert career as a pianist to become a missionary doctor in the country of Nepal. Purchasing a console-size piano in Kathmandu and getting it to her home in the foothills of the Himalayas, she continued to give concerts while pursuing her medical profession. Now in retirement, and in her 80th year, she sat down in her living room to enjoy playing Chopin Nocturnes on her Steinway.
