Draft:Digital Cinema Media logo

Digital Cinema Media's new logo.

The Digital Cinema Media logo is the corporate logo of the British cinema advertising company.

Evolution edit

  • The first ones, which debuted in UK cinemas on 1 October 2008, showed images of people and scenes from movies, such as the teaser for Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, among others, accompanied by electronic music. These idents were in use until 3 April 2011.
  • By 2011, the previous idents were replaced with an 'illuminated glass' version of the DCM logo and new music, produced by Jump Design. These idents were used until March 2013. A variant exists to promote Sour Patch Kids. The 2011 starts off normally, before it is revealed to be from a film reel taken by a green sour patch kid. The finished product appears with said sour patch kid touching it, smiling at the camera.
  • In 2013, Digital Cinema Media had a rebrand. It consists of DCM's new logo superimposed over a background of various changing scenes. Below, "Dynamic advertising" appears below the logo. There are three versions of this ident, called "Amazement", "Laughter", and "Suspense". Amazement is used before most films, with Laughter being used before a comedy film and Suspense before a horror or action movie. Depending on the variant, the scenes are as follows:
    • Amazement: Shots of a cornfield, a flock of birds flying, a pyramid, clouds moving, the Milky Way galaxy, the inside of a space shuttle, a spotlight turning on, a bomb exploding, a geyser, an octopus, shots of jellyfish, the Moon, the Aurora Borealis, and an overhead shot of Earth.
    • Laughter: A guy with an animal's head (likely a rabbit) getting up from a bench, a baby elephant running, a spaceman playing golf on the moon, a brownish yellow explosion, a disco ball, someone "grabbing" the sun in their hands, reversed footage of fireworks, a puzzled dog, an apple exploding, a water balloon popping, a baseball zooming towards the screen, and many balloons floating in the sky.
    • Suspense: An autumn leaf, what appears to be a coral reef, a snail, a garden on a rainy day, a housefly, a close-up of a cat's eyes (which doubles), a fox growling, someone's pupil shrinking, a spider, a child playing with a toy plane, a match being lit, gray smoke, a gun being fired, what appears to be a terrorist attack, a "doll projector", a woman walking in a place, someone crashing through the camera on a red background, a close up of a retro TV, a cell, police lights, and an overhead shot of a swimming pool. There is also repeated flashing in the last half.

This variant was short-lived, and it immediately had an update in 2014, where the tagline was changed to "Welcome to Our World". Suspense went unused and was discontinued the same year, and films that might use that have Amazement. In 2017, the music from the Amazement variant was changed to a harsh drum-and-bass tune.
