Desen Halıçınarlı (born in 1983 in Izmir / TURKEY) is a female painter.
Biography
editIn 2001, she graduated from Izmir Işılay Saygın Anadolu Fine Arts High School, and in 2006, she graduated with honors from the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Faculty of Fine Arts. In the same year, she joined the MSGSÜ Painting master's program. During her education, in addition to painting, she received training in engraving and fresco application workshops. In 2009, she graduated with her thesis titled "The Use of Urban Imagery in Painting Art".
Between 2011-2022, she taught Engraving-Printmaking courses at the ITU Department of Fine Arts and Basic Design courses at the ITU Faculty of Architecture.
In 2022, her mural project related to the 13th goal of the UNDP's 17 global goals, Climate Action, which she participated in an open call in Denmark, was accepted and implemented in Timring, Jutland.
Her artistic practice is shaped by the urban patterns distinguished by architectural features and the stories that unfold around them. Series such as City of Privacy, Hide and Seek, Umbilical Cord, Urban Waste, Green Spaces, Crows, the Expelled, the Exiled, Spirits Suspended in the Air, Heterotopia Series, Where is My Home, and Dodecahedron Surfaces explore the "city" experience from various interdisciplinary perspectives.
Desen, a prominent female contemporary artist with works in numerous national and international exhibitions and private collections, continues her multidisciplinary works in drawing, painting, engraving, paper works, found objects, and murals independently in her studio in Kadıköy, Istanbul.

edit2022 The Global Goal Gables Project, Denmark In this project 17 artists will create 17 works of art on gables in 17 Danish towns. The Global Goal Gables in the Central Denmark Region involve 17 gables, 17 art form, 17 collaboratice partners, 17 artists, 17 weeks and 17 global UN goals.[1]
